Organise seminar to showcase innovative products and services to all customer segments 

With the UAE keen to promote effective waste management and aiming at zero waste to landfill, waste management solutions are evolving at a rapid pace and segregation at source is fast gaining momentum. As a result, technologically advanced products that help channelise efforts towards responsible waste collection and segregation have gained significance in this market. One of the leading players in this industry is MT Khoory & Sons, with over a decade of experience in delivering efficient, innovative and cost-effective solutions for the complete cycle of waste management from waste disposal to treatment in the region.

 

Over the years, the Waste Management Division of MT Khoory & Sons has formed strategic partnerships with key global players in the sector and one such manufacturer is Plastic Omnium Systems Urbains, France, with whom MTK has been partnering for the past few years to distribute one of the biggest brands globally for plastic waste container systems. Plastic Omnium provides a full range of products to optimise sorting at source.

The recent seminar jointly conducted by Plastic Omnium and MTK – the sole authorised representative for the entire range of Plastic Omnium products in the UAE – to showcase their range of innovative solutions, further reinforced the partnership strategy of Plastic Omnium for the region. Senior representatives from the government sector including Dubai and Sharjah Municipalities and all customer segments from the private sector across the UAE participated in the seminar held at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

Innovative, eco-friendly product range
 
Showcasing the wide range of products with innovative concepts, Hassan Benhamadi, general manager, Middle East & North Africa, Plastic Omnium Environment said: “Our partnership with MTK is a team effort that enables us to maximise our reach with all relevant customer segments. MTK being a well reputed company with a wide sales network will provide the market penetration that is required for PO brand among all customer segments.”
The demonstration brought to the fore the unique features that gives them an edge over other brands in a price conscious market. The solutions include eco-friendly bins that reduce an average of 60% carbon footprint as compared to other HDPE bins, litter bins, side-loading maxi stationary bins, voluntary collection banks, semi-underground and underground bins; two-wheeled and four-wheeled bins, among others.
 
A major innovation is the range of hydraulic underground systems with an easy use bank that can be integrated in the public area. It also provides easy access to disabled people. Plastic Omnium is the first to sell on a large scale basis its solar-powered compacting litter bin ‘Solar’ium’ which enables automatic compaction up to 5 times its volume; is cost-effective for cities as it is less expensive; and reduces collection frequency up to 80% leading to fewer emissions.
 
Another interesting component is the ‘your city, your design’ concept. Considering that urban design is part of city planning worldwide, Plastic Omnium’s dedicated department in their R&D centre studies the needs of the city and sees how to integrate the products in the architecture and design and propose customised equipments.

‘System P’ – A unique Service segment

A significant feature is the Service segment of Plastic Omnium. A full package of pre-collection services termed ‘System P’ is a unique solution adapted to the specificities of each city to help the end-user optimise the usage of these services. System P includes communication, survey, data collection, implementation, washing and disinfection services, call centre services, preparation of maintenance programs and maintenance services, reporting and financing. They conduct establishment studies with parameters including the number of residents, houses, containers and volume, location, preferential points, etc, in order to propose the best solutions and help with the implementation.
