As one of the organisation’s plans and activities, this initiative aims to consolidate sustainability values among various societal factions, encourage the community to bear the responsibility of public sanitation and preserve the cultural aesthetic of the emirate of Abu Dhabi through coordinating with different government entities.
“First and Foremost, the initiative aims to reinforce community participation and raise their awareness on the importance of sharing the responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness of their area, the environment and public health by sorting waste at source as well as the dangers of haphazard waste disposal on waste accumulation, and encourage them to consider the economic value of waste and how to benefit from it,” said H.E. Eng. Saeed Al Muhairbi, Acting General Manager at Tadweer.
He highlighted the importance of Mussafah Municipality; a vital area in Abu Dhabi due to its factories, workshop and various facilities. To that end, he said: “Tadweer makes sure to organise ongoing campaigns and initiatives targeting the residents and workers of Mussafah, due to the importance of spreading general awareness on proper waste management practices to preserve the cultural aesthetic of Abu Dhabi and the health of the area’s workers and denizens.”
“These campaigns seek to instill the proper waste handling concepts in the Emirate’s industrial sector workers, in line with the development plans of industrial areas,” said Eng. Ahmed Helal Al Blooshi, Acting Director General of the Industrial Development Bureau, adding that the Bureau is careful to provide its strategic partners with necessary support “to create the perfect investment environment in the industrial sector, within the Bureau’s capacity of managing the implementation of policies, plans and programs in the industrial sector and providing the organizational, legal and environmental frameworks to develop and execute industrial projects and issue project licenses for various industrial institutions in the Emirate.”
Eng. Ahmed Al Blooshi also noted that this campaign is part of the Industrial Development Bureau’s activities under the Department of Economic Development, which aim to raise the levels of awareness and social responsibility in the Industrial sector’s worker faction through organising events and campaigns that benefit everyone involved.
